Hosting

The San Francisco Bay Area Chapter of CISV is very excited to be hosting a Summer Camp in summer 2010 and a Village in Summer 2011.

Plans are now being made for our exciting Summer Camp 2010. The Summer camp will be for 14 year olds from all over the world and the dates will be June 18, 2010 to July 10, 2010 at Evergreen Conference Center Oakhurst (ECCO).

Host family weekend will be June 18-20, 2010 so save those dates if you would like be a host family to two teens from another country. Note: at the end of host family weekend, host families will drive the teens they hosted to a bay area location where the teens will board a bus to take them to ECCO. If you would like to be a host family, please email our host coordinators at hostfamilies@cisvsf.org.

Save July 3, 2010 for CISV! An all chapter potluck lunch on Saturday July 3 in San Francisco (site TBD) will be followed by Open Day where our Summer Camp delegations will lead a variety of activities for all chapter members to enjoy. Following Open Day, will be JB night. We invite our youth 16 years of age and older and a few good adults to come to the Fort Mason hostel in San Francisco to work with our delegates while their leaders and staff are enjoying an evening out on the town.

We are excited that setup/take down efforts for this camp will be minimal - no uhaul truck and no laundry team will be needed.

We are open to receiving applications for a camp director and staff now. Staff must be at least 21 but will consider including a junior staff member who can be 19 or 20. For questions or to volunteer, please contact the camp planners, Kathy Kyne and Lois Lazar, at campplanners@cisvsf.org.
