Junior Branch

Junior Branch is composed of the local, younger members of the Chapter. Each local Junior Branch has its own officers (see board description at the bottom of this page), meetings, educational, and social activities. Junior Branch involvement offers the opportunity for leadership development and is an important part of CISV’s educational program.   The Junior Branch is open to all between the ages of 11 and 25.

JB board description:

  • PRESIDENT: As head of the Executive Board, the Junior Branch President runs all meetings, elections, and events. The president shall play an integral role in the planning of meetings, the delegation of tasks, and communication with the CISV SF Webmaster to update the Junior Branch page consistently. He or she may choose to serve for one or two years.
  • VICE PRESIDENT: The vice president assists the president in his or her duties, shares all the same responsibilities of the president, and serves as the acting president whenever the president is not available. At the end of the president's term, the vice president succeeds him or her and must attend the National Junior Branch Board of Trustees (NJBoT) Workshop in April/May.
  • SECRETARY: The secretary is responsible, largely, for the organization of the Junior Branch. They are in charge of all contact information, communications, and notes for meetings. They must inform the entire board of upcoming meetings and activities, send minutes out with clearly designated assignments for each board member, and assist the JB advisor with the collection of JB attendance and membership data.
  • TREASURER: The treasurer works with all the financial aspects of the JB, including the collection and management of dues. All money brought in by the JB must go through the treasurer, and the treasurer must handle all money being spent by the Junior Branch, while communicating with the CISV SF Treasurer. He or she must update an Excel spreadsheet of the JB budget consistently, and keep record of all financial transactions.
  • YOUTH VOICES: Youth Voices serve as representatives from their respective age groups. They bring up ideas made by the youth of those age groups, as well as providing critical input to planning and execution of activities from their perspectives. Youth Voices are responsible for planning and leading JB events along with the rest of the board members, but will have fewer responsibilities. This is the perfect choice for younger JBers or older students that do not have a lot of free time but still want to be involved.
